We are not a family who goes to the mountains in the winter. In fact, after spending 7 years in Colorado I have learned that trying to get to the mountains in the winter is both dangerous (usually from the snowstorms and non natives trying to drive in them) and frustrating (from the tourists).
No, we are a family who goes to the mountains in the off season. I’ve grown to love this season for this part of God’s creation. Mountain towns have a new life breathed into them when the snow melts and the sun shines warmer.
The entire week was spent here – sleeping late, reading, and eating well. Vacations should be relaxing, and this was exactly that.
Lion’s Head Village
My FAVOURITE mountain town – in the summer, winter, and everything in between.
Hiking, small town main street, and a lake, only 30 minutes outside of the city.
The place I spent more of my time while living in Colorado than anywhere else. My favourite city in the world. A place getting too cool for me every single day, so I go back and revisit the places I know (if you’re travelling to Denver don’t ask me what to do – the city has changed so much since I lived here and I don’t know what’s trendy anymore!)
Upstairs Circus, crafting and cocktails
See you next time, CO
